The Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force is the highest ranked enlisted member in pay-grade and responsibility. It is equivalent to the rank of Sergeant Major of the Army/Marines in the Army/Marines, and Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy/Coast Guard. The current CMSAF is Chief Master Sergeant James A.
