List of Federal Wage Scale (FWS) Government Job Series

In the federal government, every employee is classified based on their job functions, which are broken down into "series" identified by a four-digit job series number. Each series contains a number of related job titles.

Each series has a starting paygrade for new hires within the series, as well as a maximum paygrade that can be attained within that series. Therefore, your job series is a factor that determines your minimum and maximum salary.
