What are a Chief Warrant Officer 2's Responsibilities?

Chief Warrant Officers and Limited Duty Officers (LDOs) are technical or warfare specialists beyond the rank of Chief Petty Officer. Warrants and LDOs typically hold positions similar to a Division Officer, but in such cases where the learning curve and demands are too steep for brand-new, inexperienced Ensigns and LTJGs.

Warrants have their own ranks between E-9 and O-1. A Warrant starts as a W-2 and moves up based on time and performance. The only way to promote past W-5 is to O-1 as an LDO. It should be noted that neither CWOs nor LDOs are eligible for Command -- their jobs are too specialized.
