What are a Chief Warrant Officer 3's Responsibilities?
Chief Warrant Officers and Limited Duty Officers are technical or warfare specialists beyond the rank of Chief Petty Officer. Warrants and LDOs typically hold positions similar to Division Officer, but in such cases where the learning curve and demands are too steep for brand-new, inexperienced Ensigns and Lieutenants.
CWOs hold ranks that fall between E-9 and O-1. CWOs and LDOs receive similar pay, but LDOs rank higher. It should be noted that neither CWOs nor LDOs are eligible for Command -- their jobs are too specialized.
